Re-opened in 1984 , they are a permanent reminder of how the embattled goverment survived and operated. Above all , they are Winston Churchill's War Rooms , the place where had tthe expected invasion happened , the final defence of Britain would be mounted..........An excellent copy of this book , which is packed with photos and text. Very minor shelf wear to the bottom edge., otherwise very good indeed.
