This lovely little book containing the play ;The Knight of the Burning Pestle , also has a chapter all about the lives of the authors., and gives a brief acount of Francis Beaumont 1584 - 1616 and John Fletcher 1579 - 1625 ; the authorship ; dates of composition and The Scope of the Play. These notes are very useful to students of the play. There is also a wonderful sketch of The Fortune Theatre by W. H. Godfrey. Thereis some browning to the first and last inner pages , but the rest of the book is clean and bright. Green boards with a black fine stripe and black title. The book is firm with just very minor corner wear. A neat owners name to the inner page.
